Trinity-Pasig Covenant Reformed Church Retreat

On April 27-28, 2013, the Imus and Pasig congregations went away to cool and scenic Tagaytay City for fellowship and recreation (and to escape the heat of Metro Manila). We camped overnight at Nature Discovery Camp overlooking picturesque Taal Lake, although setting up the biggest tent in the dark took some effort.

Tagaytay-Ecclesiastes Poster_680We arrived at 5PM on Saturday, set up the tents, had dinner, and then had a short devotion on the theme “Fearing God: The Christian’s Life Under the Sun” based on Ecclesiastes 1:1-11. On the Lord’s Day, we held our joint worship service, and then elected new elders and deacons for the two churches. On the way back to Pasig after lunch on Sunday, we did a brief sightseeing side trip to downtown Tagaytay City, stopping by for some hamburgers and ice cream at MushroomBurger.

Though tired from the late night fellowship and the long drive home, the Lord blessed both congregations with new friendships—in addition to tons of sumptuous food—appreciative of God’s creation and a sense of anticipation for God’s renewal of both his people and his creation.
